Western Feed & Pet Supply traces its roots back to Stewart’s Feed Mill. In 1932 Stewart’s Mill opened for business at 1600 34th Street, now our Downtown Sacramento store. The 6000 sq ft location has been a feed store since that time.

In 1950 Western Ranchers began business in Carmichael as an independent feed store. It was located in the same area as the Bel Air shopping center. In 1970 the store moved into its current location, 5935 Don Way.

In 1974 the opportunity to purchase Stewart’s Mill arose. The owner of Western Ranchers, Bill Hencel, called his good friend, Wayne Creasey, to see if he would like to go into a partnership. The two then purchased Stewart’s Mill and renamed it to Western Rancher’s Supply. In 1980 Matt Boyer began working at Western Ranchers as a warehouseman. He excelled and advanced to General Manager of both locations. In 1992 Matt purchased 100% of the business and renamed the business Western Feed & Pet Supply.

In 1998 Matt purchased Ceccardi’s Feed in Orangevale and brought it into the Western Feed & Pet Supply family. Ceccardi’s was a family run business founded and operated in the same location since 1956. This added another well established location in a growing part of Sacramento County. Western Feed & Pet Supply is managed under the philosophy of “let’s provide great service, great products, great prices, have a good time and success will follow.” To date, this has guided the business through continuous growth, with no limits seen on the horizon.
